10 OF MY FAVOURITE TRAVELLING EXPERIENCES IN 2015!

thumb_IMG_0151_1024

While I sit here in LAX airport waiting 9 and a half hours for our flight to Seattle, I’m currently thinking about the year it has been travelling wise, and how quickly it has flown by (like WOW!). To quitting my job and travelling around the world for 6 months, the amazing people I’ve met, eating the yummiest and weirdest food throughout many countries, spending a week on a sail boat and partying every night, the spontaneous last minute decisions of our next destinations, my hard drive breaking in the middle of the trip, the sleepless nights in terrible hostel beds, freezing cold camp ground showers in winter, our camper van being broken into and a backpack stolen, Tyler getting very sick in India & Bali and the list goes on and on of my crazy adventures this year! Many of these and places started on my bucket list and in 2015 I decided to make them a reality!

So I narrowed down a list of my 10 favourite travel experiences (it being extremely hard to decided) and in no particular order here they are:

1- Climbed out on the side of a huge cliff (shaking with fear) to see the bluest water I’ve ever seen in Zakynthos Greece!

2- Volunteered for less privileged children at a rural school in Siem Reap, Cambodia. And to this day I think it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done!

3- Had my first WHITE Christmas in Oregon America spent with my family sledding down the drive way every morning, snow shoeing around Crater Lake, eating warm soup & sitting by the fire. PERFECT!

4- Faced my fears and floated through the sky in Cappadocia Turkey with 100+ other hot air balloons for sunrise (totally worth the panic attack haha).

5- I had an amazing weekend away for mine and my partners anniversary at Peppers Ruffles Lodge & Spa, Gold Coast hinterland. I would go back to this place in a heart beat!

6- I stayed in an incredible eco friendly bamboo hotel in Ubud Bali that prides its self on not having ANY plastic, grows organic produce used for their restaurant, supplies you with organic bath products, not to mention the amazing views, relaxing bungalows and the list goes on! My type of heaven!

7- I also got to see the Taj Mahal India & pigged out on the delicious local vegetarian cuisine which I would go back just be able to eat it all again!

8- Witnessed one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen at the top of the Rockefeller centre in NYC America.

9- Travelled to Bali Indonesia for my birthday and got to wake up in an ocean front beach bungalow! Just look at that view…

10- My partner and I hired a campervan for 3 weeks and explored 15 mind blowing Sate/National Parks in America. Some include Grand Canyon, Zion, Sequoia, Yosemite, Death Valley, Bryce Canyon & more!

I know we are in full swing to the New Year, but I finally got my broken hard drive fixed after 3 months so I was able to access all of my photos for this post, YAY! So I hope it inspired someone out there, to take a break and incorporate travel into this year’s busy schedule! I promise you won’t regret it! Travelling experiences are things I just can’t put a price on, even if they don’t turn out exactly how you planned, the stories, the memories and the pictures will always last a life time!
